Why do I <3 wordpress?

So I was reading blogs earlier and I saw in my dashboard (You know those nifty news about wordpress and stuff. Lol. If you’re already using wordpress you know what I’m talking about :P) I clicked and read Mark Ghosh’s post mentioning the Ten Reasons to choose Wordpress. So I clicked on it and read the article. The points mentioned in it are true in my case. These really are some of the best reasons for bloggers to choose Wordpress, either the free one or the self-hosted one.

It also reminded me that I posted earlier before on my personal blog about my wordpress story. For a bit of newbie in techie stuff before, Wordpress is definitely the easiest and most user-friendly blog platforms I’ve used.

Get paid to blog novice tutorials #1 - Smorty.com

Since I’ve been busy offline, I haven’t been able to share some of the good sites that help bloggers earn money. So let me sidetrack for a bit from my basic blogging tutorials, and give you guys some information about paid posts and earning from it through your blog.

There are many paid and sponsored posts site that exists in the web so I’ll take it one at a time. For today let’s talk about Smorty.com. Much like other programs which help bloggers earn money, Smorty connects interested advertisers with interested bloggers. Oftentimes, you’d see the term problogger being talked about by blogs that you stumble upon. Some people say that probloggers can be defined as bloggers who get paid to blog.

Joining Smorty as a blogger is easy, as long as you own your domain. One of their requirements is for the blog to be hosted on your blog’s root, which is the www.domain.com. It cannot be on www.domain.com/blog.

Smorty’s interface is easy to use and existing opportunities can be easily found because they are offered to you within your account interface. You can get started immediately to get paid for blogging once your blog is approved. Smorty isn’t only for bloggers who are interested to earn and blog for money. It is also for advertisers who would like to utilize blog advertising as one of their marketing means since bloggers come from different parts of the world thus enabling them to reach greater audience, and even interested customers. If you have a business and you are interested in getting your company product and services exposed to a larger market why not try to advertise on blogs and see its benefits? After all its much cheaper than a full-blown marketing stint which can cost you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

The Virtual Traveler is back with some good finds to boot.:P

I know I’ve been gone for a bit. I had too much stuff going on my offline life that I needed to take a bit of a break. I’m now back as long as my paperworks don’t pile up again. :)

I was quite surprised when I saw in my dashboard that I was awarded by Totally Fabulous with the I’m Fabulous Award! Tadaaaa:

I’d like to thank them for the award. Its a good motivation to get back to posting the fabulous finds I see online. ;)

By the way, I was blog hopping the other day when I chanced upon ApplesH post about the Belle De Jour Power Planner. I checked out the site since I wanted to get a planner for myself (must get organized next year. Lol.) and I liked it a lot, so I ordered one. :) If I had extra funds I would’ve given them as Christmas gifts to my friends but alas, my pockets are quite empty still. Haha. Maybe next year. :P

I’ve been bugging my friend about buying a laptop since she knows them more than I do (I haven’t had the chance to own one yet). Since I’m thinking of getting one (ehem..that is if I can save enough to get one. :P ) I did some online travelling and checked out some laptop related stuff. So I was thinking of cute feminine laptops and I stumbled onto DecalGirl.com which is a site that offers laptop skins. I know there are some offered here in the Philippines but they’re mostly on pc shops. The skins I liked are the following:

Haha, makes me want a laptop even more. :) Then I tried to look for bags and I stumbled into PenelopeBags.com after reading it from About.com. If I do get to buy my own laptop soon, I’d really want a bag that doesn’t shout: “Hey look at me!!! I’ve got a laptop inside!!!”. Especially since I commute from home to school and vice-versa. It would be easier and safer if my bag looked like normal everyday bags.

Now I just need to think positively that I’d get my laptop if not by Christmas, hopefully, early next year. :)
